Why you have to ask

On NEAR an account has to be registered on a token before it can be paid in it, and registering costs storage. Sending a payout to three hundred holders would mean paying for three hundred registrations in advance, guessing which of them already exist, and watching the rest fail one at a time inside a batch.

Claiming turns that around. You register yourself in the same breath as you take the money, a cycle can never half land, and the contract cannot quietly skip anyone.

Nothing expires. A cycle you never claim stays claimable.
